Another AD ban!?

I tried to go to AD today and got a message that I've been permanently banned for porno spam and that the ban was issued for my IP. Does anyone have an idea why this could happen?

it's a poor way of dealing with spam attackers. they (AD) block the IP, which blocks an entire network area. it's not you. it's like blocking a zip code. everyone in that area gets refused access. that's why i don't use IP blocking.

they can't block by email address, since these spammers use a new address daily. then you just end up with millions of blocked address that aren't real anyway. you can resolve it by contacting admin and letting them know what happened. i'm sure they can figure out a way to get you back in.

You're right, probably that's a way. When I thought it's something to do with me personally just leaving all at that was the last thing I wanted to do, but in this case... It's that I don't really need to go there anymore. I couldn't get it resolved myself even if I needed - when I hit contact the board administrator link I get a page that asks to login to Yandex mail.  I don't have a Yandex mail box. Anyway it's still kind of unfair. So if anyone here still visits AD, could you please post there what happened to me and tell them they are suckers? My user name there is the same as here. Thnx

they do make it difficult to contact anyone. unless you want to just register a fresh, new account.
but truly....is not a place to resolve anything. on the contrary it adds to the conflict.
it's a great place for those who are bored, and need some agitation to bring deeper issues to the surface, but that's where it ends.
no real healing or support taking place there. just a lot of (poor) opinions. not very large scale thinking going on there.

i don't know. i know it's hard to break ties from, but is healthier in the long run. i know most here would agree.

Not like I had any real ties to it, I went there once in a while exactly out of being bored. Probably it's time for me to stop spending so much time on the net and do something useful instead. I guess I'm done with it. Not something to be upset about
